On January 15th, six members of the Royalton YES!/Tech Club traveled to the Minneapolis Convention Center to present their achievements and plans at the Minnesota School Board Association’s annual Leadership Conference, titled “21st Century Leadership”.

Their impressive 40-foot display included their 2014 state-champion Supermileage car and its solar-powered trailer, photos of their waste oil recycling site in partnership with East Side Oil Companies, information on their waste reduction and alternative energy projects, and plans to enter this year’s solar boat regatta.  Along with Mayor Andrea Lauer, students presented their accomplishments to some 1,300 school board members and 250 superintendents, illustrating the ways that student-inspired, cooperative projects can improve the environmental and economic health of rural Minnesota communities.

Follow this link to see their feature in the Record, and check back soon for links to their newly-developing project websites.  Way to go Royalton!
