When talking about environmental change and making a better future, we need to start from the ground up, literally. On March 20th, YES! and Gustavus Adolphus College invite you to Healthy Soil = Healthy Lives to learn about soil health and its importance to you, Minnesota, and the planet. This event is part of our winter workshop series in which YES! teams come together to better understand topics to successfully accomplish projects around the environment. This event is sponsored by the Rydell Foundation and the keynote speaker is the Rydell professor David Montgomery. David is a professor of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington. Students will learn about how healthy soil impacts water quality, local foods, and climate change, go on tours of the greenhouse/composter and solar array, and have round table discussions with Gustavus Adolphus College students.
To register, please visit https://yesmn.org/event-registration/. It is $10 per student and $20 per general public member to attend. Schools can get reimbursed for transportation and substitute teacher costs. Breakfast and lunch will be provided thanks to the Rydell Foundation.
