Have you always wanted to know what our energy sources are, how we have used those sources overtime to maintain our lifestyles, what the impact this energy consumption has on our planet’s environment, and to understand what new energy technologies and consumption habits we can employ day to day to improve our planet’s atmosphere?
The All Things Energy Workshop is a 90 minute presentation and small group breakout session that comprehensively covers all these questions. First, we will start out with our only energy source, the sun, you will learn what the sun is made out of, how long it will last, how much energy it produces, and how it created fossil fuels on earth. Next, you will learn how we have used these fossil fuels, and for what purposes both nationally and internationally. It is a fascinating journey to see how we got started, where we are today, and where we need to go in the future. Lastly, we focus on the impact we have made in the last 150 years and what we can do to change the way we use and consume energy to reduce global warming.
Tom McDougall, the presenter, is an Engineer, Architect, and past CEO of the Weidt Group. Tom has focused his career on reducing energy consumption in thousands of building projects, has co-authored books, and research papers for manufactures and national labs to improve energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. Now, Tom volunteers as a YES! coach and is committed to promote energy and environmental ethics and education to our next generation.
