WWG Earth YES! Class Educates Elementary Students

Tommy Lee_WWG_Env education_2.2016This is a guest post by the WWG Earth YES! Class

On February 24th 2016, WWG Earth YES! team went to the WWG Elementary and had a presentation about recycling. We presented to students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. We taught them what recycling is, what impact landfills have on animals, and what can and cannot be recycled. WWG_Env education_2.2016_2

We also incorporated a game that went with the presentation to. We separated the kids into two groups and gave them a bag of materials that they had to sort out of what was trash and what was able to be recycled. Once they sorted them out, we had a little race to see what team could put them in the correct bins. Overall the presentation and game went very well, and the kids had a wonderful time.
