An Hour for Our Earth in Pine Island

While gathering over pizza they won through their Winter Workshop survey responses, the Pine Island High School YES! Team/Environmental Club discussed the next step for their team. Megan Schimek, teacher and YES! coach, said the meeting had “a great turnout and [was] actually pretty productive!”

What did they decide?

Pine Island will be participating in Earth Hour, March 31st, by hosting a Blackout Day at their school this year. Inspired by the Blackout Days of their peers from Westbrook-Walnut Grove, Pine Island will set out to shut off lights in their school for a day.  We’re excited to hear the results!
