New London-Spicer YES! Team Harvest!

This year the New London-Spicer YES! team has decided to go local with their food.  They installed a passive solar greenhouse and tied in a vertical axis wind turbine. Last week they were able to harvest some of the produce from their greenhouse.  They harvested 2.5 pounds of lettuce and almost 2 pounds of French Breakfast radishes.  They look forward to harvesting more produce from their greenhouse in the coming months!

They are having an open house of their greenhouse Friday, March 7th from 1-6 pm.  If you are interested in reading more about the plans that developed the greenhouse, read The Northlands Winter Greenhouse Manual by Carol Ford and Chuck Waibel.
