I am excited to be getting involved in YES! again. I was a YES! student while I was in middle and high school at ACGC (Atwater Cosmos-Grove City) where we completed many projects during the 6 years that I was participating. My favorite projects involved educating younger students in the elementary schools. I took part in projects like our school garden, planting a water/rain barrier, installing hydration stations, reducing hallway lighting, installing energy efficient outdoor lights, placing sorted classroom recycling bins around the campus, and many more projects that I would love to share with you.
After high school, I coached the ACGC YES! team for a year. During this year we did a large-scale paper recycling event, continued our school garden, and worked to increase recycling at the high school. My passion for biology and education led me to start college at Ridgewater to study biology. I have taken science courses on environmental science, biology, microbiology, genetics, and human anatomy. I love anything and everything science!
I am currently located in the big city of Kandiyohi. I live in a quaint home with my fiancé, my 3-year-old daughter, our 2 dogs, and 3 new fish! I am an avid hobby collector… meaning that I have many hobbies and tend to switch them often! I like drawing. I also sew and crochet. I have a cutting machine to make projects. I love cooking and baking… you name it I will try it if I have not tried it yet!
My goal is to build a relationship with as many people as I can and help them accomplish their goals. I can not wait to meet all the wonderful students that I have been reading about, I look forward to seeing all of you soon.
