The U.S. Green Building Council – Minnesota Chapter (USGBC-MN) recently announced the Chapter’s Adopt-A School-Program. In 2011, the Minnesota Chapter will choose a Minnesota public school [elementary and/or middle school and/or junior high (no high schools or pre-K schools)] to participate the school will also have the opportunity to achieve certification under LEED for Existing Buildings:

‘Greening’ the Holidays
Results are rolling in! New London- Spicer, Litchfield, WWG and Springfield have all contributed hefty loads to the Holiday Light Campaign. The lights collected by YES teams are being processed at West Central Industries in Willmar. WWG collected a weighty 90 pounds of lights, Springfield held their own, by collecting 332.60 pounds of lights, and Litchfield has gathered upwards of 70
Electronics Collection
For those teams interested in reusing and recycling old electronic equipment this year - check out PCs for People! An organization that collects a wide variety of used electronic equipment and refurbishes or responsibliy recycles it.
