Winner, Winner, Local Foods Dinner

Congratulations to the Southern YES! teams for another incredible year of hardworking students completing inspirational and impactful projects. This year’s Southern Regional Judging took place at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN where 6 judges from the community came together to assess 5 of the 7 Southern YES! teams’ accomplishments.

Results:

1st Place Award Recipient – Sleepy Eye YES! Team

  • Outstanding work in all the following categories: goal setting & teamwork, community engagement, and ecological impact.

2nd Place Award Recipient – New Prague YES! Team

  • Enthusiastic presentation, which was integral to the judging results, they showed goals and completed them, had a wide variety of projects including local foods, up-cycling, waste reduction, and community outreach, overcoming the difficulties of attendance issues.

3rd Place Award Recipient – Westbrook-Walnut Grove YES! Team

  • Outstanding work the team put into large-scale projects, choosing projects specific to their location, showed goals and completed them, continuing previous projects yet showing ingenuity in the new projects tackled.

WOW Award Recipient – New Prague YES! Team

  • Outstanding presentation, overcoming large obstacles, showing leadership potential for next year, and an incredible amount of time spend working on projects.

On behalf of YES! staff, we would like to yet again thank you all for your hard work in making a better planet for our future, showing great leadership skills, and having incredible perseverance.
